Student artwork takes pride of place in the Minister for Education’s office

During a visit to RNIB College Loughborough, Edward Timpson, Minister for Education pointed out some of the fabulous artwork that decorates the walls of the College. The students are always keen to share their work with others and the Minister was offered the painting as a thank you gift for visiting.

The painting was created by Christopher Kyprianou, a 2nd year student as part of a commissioned project to provide mosaics to the exterior of the new canal bank Travelodge in Loughborough. His painting has now been professionally framed and will take pride of place on the Minister's office wall to remind him of his time at the College. Loughborough residents will be able to enjoy the finished mosaic artwork when it is installed at the Travelodge site.

Edward Timpson said, 'The visit to the RNIB College was a wonderful day which showcased a range of the excellent opportunities specialist providers are offering to young people with learning difficulties and disabilities. Christopher's inspiring work is a positive reminder of how the right opportunities and support can ensure the skills of all young people can be nurtured and developed, opening up a valuable and happy future for them.
