On Thursday 10 October RNIB College Loughborough had their annual visit from Charnwood Borough Council's Environmental Health Officer. This was to inspect the College's Bell Bar, the student catering enterprise. It is great to announce that we were awarded five stars for our catering services. This is the highest award that can be achieved, demonstrating excellent standards of food hygiene. Our inspector said "we should be recommended for good practice as we have excellent standards." In particular, she was very impressed with the catering operations we have implemented. We are really proud of all staff and students working within the catering services, and it is great they've been externally recognised for all their hard work in ensuring it is a great place to eat. The Bell Bar is part of the College's unique enterprise learning environment, where students gain skills and experience in an active real life setting. On an average week they'll be over 50 students in the Bell Bar cooking, preparing food and serving customers.
