RNIB College Loughborough develops more placement opportunities for students

RNIB College Loughborough held it's twice yearly Employer Information Evening on Thursday 10 April attracting over 25 individuals from a wealth of different organisations. All were keen to find out more about supporting the College. Attendees had the opportunity to hear from Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue giving an employer's perspective on supporting work placements. They were also able to hear a very moving speech from student
Lee-Anne. She spoke about her employment scheme arranged through the College at SOFA, a local furniture recycling organisation. Attendees were able to watch demonstrations of different types of access technology showcased by staff and students. The College continuously strives to work with a varied range of employers giving students the widest choice of potential opportunities.

Attendee, Mpazi Siame from Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service said 'I really found the evening informative especially looking at some of the technology available to support blind and partially sighted individuals in benefiting from real employment opportunities.'
