An evening of celebration was held at RNIB College Loughborough. The College held its Annual Employer Partnership Awards event to say a big 'thank you' to Employers in recognition of the support they have given to students at the College. Attendees had the opportunity to meet and receive their certificate from Guest Speaker Chris Ratcliffe, Director of Development from the English Federation of Disability Sport, who gave a thought provoking presentation on his career as a profoundly deaf person. Three special awards were presented to Sofa, Loughborough Lawn Tennis Club and Shuttlewood Clarke Foundation.

Loughborough Lawn Tennis Club won the Debut Award for their bespoke placement for a student, which enabled him to become totally independent in the workplace.

Shuttlewood Clarke Foundation received the Special Recognition Award for placing a number of students in a variety of different roles and settings and for being responsive to the needs of each student.

Sofa took home the Main Award, presented in appreciation of the comprehensive support given to students over the last 5 years. They have taken students as volunteers, helped them with mock interviews, been the guest speaker at our recent information evening and offered paid work as part of our Transitional Employment Scheme (TES).
