RNIB College Loughborough goes dotty!

Tuesday October 14th was Read for RNIB day at RNIB College Loughborough. The College went dotty for this year's theme of 'wear dots to raise lots'.

Students and staff embraced the theme by wearing spotty dotty clothing and dotty comedy moustaches that were handmade by the students. They also baked cakes and had dotty competitions such as braille scrabble, name the bear and a raffle. Those who donated could also collect dotty themed recipes that the College Office students researched and printed out, as well as dotty shopping bags. Books from the College lending library were on display in the Bell Bar as well as a book swap stand.

Just over £173 was raised from the mornings fundraising activities. Elaine Middleton-Dilley, Programme Leader for Rehabilitation and Therapies at the College said 'The students love to support different charities, so it was great to watch and support their fundraising ideas turn into money raising activities for the RNIB.'

Students will be presenting the money raised to the RNIB Community Fundraising Manager, Lisa Brown when they return from the half term holiday.
