RNIB College Loughborough student film wins award!

On Saturday an RNIB College Loughborough student produced film was shown as part of the Cheap Thrills Film Festival at Fearon Hall in Loughborough. The students also scooped a 'Peggy' award for "The Film Where The Most People Looked Like They Were Having Fun."

Last term RNIB College Loughborough students imagined, acted and produced a fabulous film called 'African Mask' in preparation for the College's 'Africa Day' celebration. The film transported the students into a fantasy world, where their own creations came to life. Guests at the celebration felt the sense of adventure as the film was played, and it is super news that it has been more widely recognised, through being shown in Sheffield and now Loughborough as part of the Cheap Thrills Film Festival and through winning a 'Peggy' award.

Tutor Anna Janickyj said "This is a great achievement and true recognition of our students' hard work and the excellent support they received from staff."

Seven students made the film along with guidance from College learning support staff during their performing arts lessons in the summer term. This is an outstanding success for all involved.

The Cheap Thrills Film Festival initiative was created through goodwill and shared creativity, in order to make free events.
