At the beginning of November, RNIB College Loughborough held one of its popular Employer Information Evenings. These events offer employers the opportunity to find out more about what is involved in supporting students in a work placement. The evening started with an opportunity to see different types of access technology in action. Attendees had the opportunity to hear about how we support employers, so that they are prepared for having a student placement. Two current employers, Youth Shelter and Shuttlewood Clarke Foundation delivered a session on 'making it work in the workplace' giving attendees their thoughts about taking on a placement. They also had the opportunity to hear from students about their experiences as disabled adults in the work place.

Chris Swaine of emh group said, 'We were delighted to be invited. Once again I was so impressed by the professionalism of students in their quest to develop their skills in preparation for employment. We are now actively working with the RNIB to place two students into our business and would encourage other business to 'see through their disability' and concentrate on student skills and attitudes.'
