Students raise awareness of Epilepsy Action

On Thursday 26 March the College held an epilepsy awareness day. This was to coincide with 'Purple Day', a worldwide event designated to raising awareness of epilepsy; first set up in 2008. The event was arranged by student Jessica Ham who has the condition. Students made purple textured brooches, and everyone was encouraged to wear purple. They even iced cakes with yummy purple topping. On the day the students sold brooches in the College Shop and sold cakes in the Bell Bar. Staff and students at the College with epilepsy had a photoshoot holding 'I have epilepsy and I'm awesome' posters. Money raised will go to The Epilepsy Society and hopefully the event has further heightened knowledge and awareness of epilepsy at the College.
