On a damp and chilly spring day in Loughborough we were transported to more exotic climes by a wonderful India Extravaganza. The College was packed with visitors ready to immerse themselves in a showcase of this term's thematic topic, India. The event started with an opportunity to visit a number of different stalls, including a saree wrapping competition, tactile India treasure map, as well as Indian dance workshops. The main student performance included student documentary footage about food, transport and key historical sites, a rain dance and an Indian animal march through the monsoon. The finale involved the audience joining in with students for some traditional Indian song and dance. £305 was raised from the day, which is going to the Nepal Earthquake fund.
