RBS volunteers revamp RNIB College courtyard!

The Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS) has supported the RNIB College by organising a staff volunteering event to help transform the courtyard. RBS sent a team of 5 people each day for five days, the teams provided their own equipment along with plants and other materials for which they held fundraising events to ensure the right types are plants were able to be purchased for the sensory garden. Over the week they replanted trees and put new ones in, sanded down benches, cleaned up the cobbled courtyard floor and water feature. They also overhauled all the flower beds, lined, wood chipped and restocked with plants.

It was a physical day, but everyone involved thought it was really rewarding and have said they'd be keen to come and help again.

Suzie Barlow, from RNIB College said: On behalf of the RNIB College, we would like to say a huge thank-you to the fantastic team of RBS staff, who joined us over the week. The courtyard was in need of a little transformation and the teams have worked tirelessly each day to give the courtyard a complete revamp'

In recognition for their support RBS staff attended the weekly student meeting and received cakes from the student led Irresistible Cupcake Company at the College.
