This month RNIB College Loughborough was visited by the National Open College Network (NOCN) external verifier, to validate our maths and English qualification assessments. The verifier was very impressed by the curriculum and how Literacy Numeracy and Communication (LNC) were being embedded. She commentated very positively when observing Learning Assistants working with students on their LNC folders. The College was carefully scrutinized but the verifier was so confident with her findings that she has recommended us ready to go for direct claims for student certification. This is a great achievement on a first visit demonstrating the confidence she held in our portfolios, marking and internal verification. As part of our continuous improvement we have our own LNC action plan, but have not received any further actions from NOCN.
