Sense College Loughborough has a long history of delivering high quality education to people with disabilities, but we also offer a daytime social care programme.
This programme is individually tailored to suit the support needs, interests and aspirations of the service user. Flexibility is built into the programme to allow young people to put together a package that suits them, complemented by other activities they may access throughout the week.
These support programmes are designed to be funded either directly through social services or with a personalised budget. You will need to talk to your social worker if you would like more information about the funding available to you.
Our Flexible Futures programme is designed for young people with a personal budget. Flexibility is built into the programme to suit individual interests and support levels.
Making the most of the College enterprises, programmes are planned and organised to develop skills for the future. Young people have the opportunity to practice independent living skills in a realistic adult environment and in the local community.
Flexible Futures is made up of the following elements, which are available from as little as one day per week for a half-term:
- College enterprises - take part in working in one of our lively enterprises including our café, eBay shop, College Shop and Arts Centre.
- Community activities - practice communication or numeracy skills with a shopping trip, be healthy with outdoor games and sports activities.
- Independent living skills - develop and maintain important independent living skills such as cooking, cleaning and budgeting.
Other opportunities may be available. Please contact Tina Kelsey on 01509 611 077 to discuss your interests.
