We're currently recruiting Education Support Workers to join our team at our Sense College in Loughborough working either 20 or 30 hours per week for 38 weeks of the year. The role is to prepare students appropriately for the many possible transitions into adulthood, working closely with them to achieve outcomes of their Education, Health and Care Plans.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

• Keeping the needs of the learners at the centre of your attention at all times.
• Enabling learners to influence their services and the way they are supported.
• Helping Sense to provide a high quality education experience.
• Supporting people with their personal care.

About you

• Previous experience of working with people who have a sensory impairment, autism or learning disability would be an advantage, as would knowledge of BSL, Makaton or other methods of communication however, training will be provided.
• It is essential that you are able to work effectively as part of a team whilst demonstrating your own initiative. You will have had experience of person centred planning, keeping records up to date and providing personal care.
• Level 2 (or equivalent) in English and Maths is an essential requirement for this role.

We're looking for reliable and motivated persons to join our professional team of Support Workers at our College Centre based in Loughborough working up to 16 hours a week between Monday to Friday, 11am-2pm, for 38 weeks of the year. The successful applicant will work with people who have dual or single sensory impairment, learning disability, and associated physical disabilities.

About you

• Caring/Support Worker experience in a personal/voluntary/professional capacity
• Experience of working independently as well as in a team setting
• Ability to support people with mobility (e.g. assisting with walking, guiding or working with a person who is a wheelchair user)

We're looking for a reliable and motivated person to join our team as a Transitions Coordinator at Sense College Loughborough.

The successful applicant will be responsible for ensuring students have an effective transition out of college. This will involve chairing annual reviews, whilst providing support to students, parents/carers and colleagues so that all students are fully prepared for their best next steps.

Key areas of activity include:

• Preparing for and facilitating effective review meetings and ensuring completion of post review actions.
• Working with students to fully prepare them for their best next steps
• Working with colleagues to support them to prepare students for their best next steps
• Working with partners and projects so students can access external transitions support
• Ensuring all activity is monitored, recorded and the impact of enhanced transitions activity is evidenced.

By coordinating outstanding transition planning you will play a critical role in ensuring we increase the number of students who achieve their aspirational goals.

About you

• Good level of general education including Level 2 in Literacy and Numeracy
• Willing to work towards a Careers, Advice and Guidance qualification (or equivalent)
• Previous experience working in student support or transition planning
• Knowledge of vocational and living opportunities for disabled people

Salary: £29,648 per annum, pro rata

Hours: 22-37.5 hours per week (depending on applicant)
