Do you have business experience that you could give to a local charity? The RNIB College Loughborough, a specialist college for people with disabilities, is seeking a new governor with business experience at a senior level. The current RNIB College chair of governors Stephen Peete, from the Loughborough Building Society is due to leave his position in the new year. The College would now like to recruit another professional from the business world who can help to strategically drive the College forward. College Principal Tony Warren said "We are a caring educational body that has to operate in an efficient business-like way. We are looking for people with expertise and contacts that can help us." The College was officially classified as "Good" in its February 2008 inspection by OFSTED and is now looking to become Outstanding by the next inspection in 2010. The College feels that key to this success is bringing in a new governor with significant business experience in the private or public sector. The College appreciates that governors are busy people and need to control their time commitment to the College. Governors meetings take place 3 times a year. The College offers all governors training opportunities in areas such as equal opportunities and is keen to help local companies strengthen their corporate social responsibilities.

Can you help the RNIB College to become outstanding? If you would like to know more about the role of a governor at the RNIB College and how you could help us, please contact Suzie Whittington on 01509 611077.
