Paintings presented to local Doctors' Practice

Learners have produced a series of paintings and presented them to a local Doctors Practice to brighten up the waiting room. The paintings have been produced as part of a theme about the wider community. Each year a different theme is picked and this year it was Africa. The learners researched African animals and made models from recycled materials.

The next step was to consider the landscape and create a painting about their chosen animal. The paintings are on stretched canvas in acrylic paints. The background sunsets were applied with sponges. The animals and details were added using paintbrushes, stencils and rubber stamps.

The Paintings were presented to the Storer Road Surgery in Loughborough on Wednesday 14 December.

Paul Hanlon, Business Manager at the surgery, thanked the learners saying: "Thank you for all your hard work, I think the paintings look fantastic."
