On Thursday 23 February RNIB College received a surprise inspection from the Charnwood Borough Council Environmental Health Food Safety Team, who are responsible for regulating local food providers. As soon as they arrived the inspector donned her uniform and examined the hygiene of everything behind the counters of the Bell Bar and the Kitchen and even went as far as to examine the bottom of fridge seals.

Despite this surprise and rigorous investigation the inspector did not make a single recommendation for improvement and was happy to give the College the very top score, five stars.

This outcome is a tribute to the work of not only Bell Bar staff but also to the learning assistants and learners who work hard to enforce such high standards.
