RNIB College Loughborough and the East Midlands PRD group of specialist colleges have been working for the last year on an LSIS (Learning and Skills Improvement Service) funded project to produce resources for young people with a disability, their parents/carers and college staff. The project aims to improve the safety for all learners with learning difficulties and disabilities when using a computer and the internet. The project has resulted in a brand new website, launched last week, which provides an accessible information resource.

Learners from specialist colleges across the East Midlands, including RNIB College, were involved in producing the contents of the site including, text, pictures, presentations and video clips. As a result, the site is friendly and information is in a format that learners with disabilities find easy to relate to and feel comfortable using.

The site em-esafetyproject.co.uk will be maintained and updated for at least two years, until 31st August 2014.
