Students at RNIB College Loughborough have been approached to take part in a competition to design a new logo to mark the 20thAnniversary of The Bridge.

The Bridge is a registered charity providing high quality services for homeless and vulnerably housed people in the Borough of Charnwood, Leicestershire and Rutland. Founded in 1993 the charity is now celebrating a very special year - their 20 Anniversary. To mark the occasion they are holding a yearlong celebration throughout 2013 and as part of these celebrations they have approached schools and colleges across the county to design a logo or piece of artwork.

The successful design will be printed on t-shirts worn by staff and volunteers throughout the year, appear on all printed literature produced by the charity relating to their 20 anniversary and be transformed into a plaque to be displayed at The Bridge premises.

Learners in the Arts Centre Enterprises have been working tirelessly over the past few weeks to come up with what they hope will be a winning design.

'We have been looking at lots of different logos and trying to draw inspiration from them. We talked about things we liked and how it could work for this new logo. We thought about the kind of services that The Bridge offer and the images associated with it and we even incorporated some of the colours from our own logo.'

The completed design has now been presented to members of The Bridge to be counted in with the other nominations. Judging will take place on Friday 15 February, with the winning piece announced later in the month. Good luck to all the learners and staff who have worked hard to produce this wonderfully creative design!
