Students win logo design competition for 20th anniversary celebrations!

Earlier this year the College was approached by local charity, The Bridge, to take part in a competition to design a piece of artwork or logo to be used to mark the charity's 20 anniversary celebrations.

The closing date was 8th February with The Bridge receiving 11 different entries from local schools and colleges across the county. David Harris, Head of Housing, a Service User of The Bridge and a talk²sort Mediator made up the judging panel which met on Friday 15thFebruary.

Paul Snape, Business Support Manager explains "The Bridge was keen to involve the community in which it works and particularly the schools and colleges within the Charnwood area. We recognise the talents of local young people and wanted a young person or a group of young people to design & create a logo or piece of art work we could use throughout the year."

We can now proudly announce that the logo produced by students at the RNIB College has been declared the winner! Their art work will now be used throughout the year as part of The Bridge's 20 anniversary celebrations. The design will be printed onto t-shirts which will be worn by staff and volunteers in the community throughout the year. The Bridge will have the artwork framed to be displayed at The Bridge and will also feature the design on any literature relating to The Bridge's 20th anniversary. The RNIB College received a £50 voucher of their choice and a certificate.

Sarah Jayne Smith, Lecturer, RNIB College said, "The students in our College Arts Centre really enjoyed creating this logo. They worked as a team to generate design ideas and then went on to create the final collage. We are all so pleased with the winning design."
