Autism Accreditation is an internationally recognised standard given by the National Autistic Society. It is awarded to settings which show a high level of expertise and consistent good practice when working with individuals on the autism spectrum. To achieve accreditation the College underwent a rigorous application and review process, which involved being assessed against 15 core standards. These focused around individual plans and objectives; sensory and behaviours support; and training and policies. The assessors spoke to students and staff to gain an understanding of the College's person centred strategies as well as observing students in our enterprises and external work placements. The College is delighted to have achieved this highly regarded accreditation, which gives confidence to families who may be considering our provision for someone with autism.
