On Saturday 7 October, we held our annual Family Open Day for potential students and their families. Visitors spoke with staff and Governors, tried out different communication aids and assistive technology and had tours of the College and residential accommodation. Staff planned activities that moved visitors from one enterprise to the next, showcasing how they work together. Attendees started the day decorating cookies in our independent living kitchen and then went into the Craft Studio to embellish and decorate cookie boxes. Next they created labels in the Art's Centre using the Big Shot machine and went across to the College Office to laminate them. Finally they visited our eBay business and took photos of their finished pieces of work. It was a really great day! We had over 70 people attend, out of which 20 were potential students and we are hoping to move them forward with an application.
