We are delighted to announce that the artwork of one of our Vocational students has been selected to be displayed in a virtual exhibition run by a London art gallery this month!
Amar, who is in his second year at Sense College Loughborough, is currently supported to study for a Level 3 Diploma in Art & Design at Loughborough College. Amar enjoys all elements of his course, but his passion is photography. As part of his course, Amar created a terrarium to take close up photos of nature. Five of these photos have been selected to be displayed in Holy Art Gallery's virtual exhibition, Aura.
The Holy Art Gallery specialises in holding art fairs and exhibitions through their galleries in London and Athens. Their Aura exhibition will run from 13 February – 13 March 2023 and can be viewed online or in person at their London gallery. During this time, viewers will be able to see the work of Amar and other artists, and will also have the opportunity to purchase the artwork.
Amar explains that he wants his work to mean something and connote a feeling of peace, calmness and serenity. He likens this feeling to that of a summer morning: "imagine the soft chirp of the birds, the slight rustling of the trees and the soft flurry of wind brushing against your face… I want my images to promote that 'summer morning' feeling, to connote that feeling of serenity and tranquillity, I don't want them to just be images but rather I want them to be experiences.".
Everyone at Sense College Loughborough is very proud of Amar, especially his Tutor, Anna, who says: "I'm so pleased how well Amar has done on his course at Loughborough College and I am sure he is very proud of himself. He should certainly be proud of how much he has grown and how much self-confidence he has developed during his time at college. I am also very proud of Amar and how he has become a very determined and talented young adult who will, no doubt, do well in the future".
